OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A surge in G-O-P voter registration is being credited for helping Oklahoma Republicans make history Tuesday.
Republicans snatched control of the state House of Representatives for the first time in more than 80 years and won a high-profile U-S Senate seat by a large margin.
In state House races, Republicans won 16 seats where they were outnumbered by registered Democratic voters, sometimes as many as four to one.
GOP leaders also are stocking voter rolls with new party members.
Republicans outpaced Democrats by nearly 18-thousand in voter registrations since January First. Nearly 98-thousand Republicans added their names to voter rolls, while Democrats added nearly 80-thousand.
