Republicans now have the majority in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. The historic shift in power hasn't happened in more than 80 years.
Republicans gained nine seats in the state House. They now outnumber Democrats 57 to 44. The Democratic majority is now down to 4 in the State Senate after the Republicans picked up two more seats.
State Republicans are ecstatic.
Oklahoma Republican Party Chairman Gary Jones: "The big thing is that we had the right people running. We had people the represent their districts, people that are going to do good things for the state of Oklahoma. I believe that we can stand up now and say that Oklahoma is a Republican state."
