A man already convicted of killing a state trooper is facing federal allegations connected to the same shooting.

A federal grand jury will decide whether to indict Kenneth Eugene Barrett on drugs, weapons and slaying counts. If he is convicted of certain federal offenses, he could face the death penalty.

Barrett was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the 1999 death of Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper David "Rocky" Eales.
