The body found floating in a trash can on the Grand River in Mayes County over the weekend has been identified as 52-year-old Paul Kroeker of Chelsea.

Kroeker's 41-year-old wife Margaret is being held on a homicide complaint. Authorities say she confessed to a family member that she was responsible for her husband's death.

The undersheriff of Rogers County says Margaret Kroeker told them she acted alone. Investigators say her husband was bludgeoned to death with a sledge hammer Saturday night.

Authorities in Mayes County haven't filed any charges yet. They're waiting to confirm the details of Kroeker's confession. Rogers County Sheriff deputies meanwhile are looking for a sledge hammer they believe is the murder weapon.

We're told the couple had a history of domestic violence.
