SALLISAW, Okla. (AP) -- "Big Country" makes a big land buy.
Former Oklahoma State University and NBA basketball player Bryant "Big Country" Reeves is the top bidder for a 6,200-acre game ranch in Sequoyah County.
Reeves outbid a dozen other potential buyers at an auction Saturday to land the property for $2.7-million.
The property is north of Muldrow on the north side of State Highway 101, close to Reeves' hometown of Gans.
William Bone of the National Auction Group says the property has deer, black bear, quail, turkey, dove and 30 lakes and ponds.
The ranch is designed to handle a 160-head elk herd, with 275 acres of pastures divided by high-wire game fencing.
The property also has a four-bedroom ranch house, a two-bedroom hunter's lodge, a bunkhouse and several barns and outbuildings.
