An American photographer, with ties to Tulsa, is free after being abducted in the Iraqi capitol over the weekend. New York-based World Picture News says 24-year-old Paul Taggart was on his way to a shoot in Sadr City in Sunday when his car was ambushed by a "criminal gang."

Taggart attended Booker T. Washington High School and his family lives here in Tulsa.
His mother talked with Tulsa's K-R-M-G radio. She said Taggart is safe and is currently staying at a media compound in Baghdad.
