OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The start of construction on a military plane repair center near Tinker Air Force Base is being delayed by several months.
Officials say the delay is because contract negotiations with Boeing to lease the first hangar at the center are going slower than expected.
Battelle Oklahoma is to operate the center and had intended to begin construction this fall. Battelle spokesman Chip Carter now says construction is to start next June.
The $600-million repair center is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs when it's completed.
