Seven people were injured and 5 were taken to Tulsa hospitals after a truck drove into a QuikTrip Thursday morning. The accident happened at the QuikTrip on 61st Street just west of Memorial.
Tulsa Police say a pickup truck crashed into the front of the store, pinning at least one customer between the pickup truck and the front counter.
Police officers say the driver of the truck, 58-year-old Everett Hartzog of Collinsville thought he was braking but pressed the gas pedal instead. "He was in a position to where he thought the car was in one gear, his foot was in one position when in fact it was in another position and when he went in he was very confused he didn't understand what was going on," said Tulsa Police Captain Steve Odom.
All five people taken to Tulsa hospitals are listed in fair condition.
