OAKMONT, Pa. (AP) -- Former Oklahoma State golf standout Scott Verplank finishes tied for seventh today in the U-S Open, five shots behind winner Angel Cabrera.
Verplank closed with a 2-over-par 72 today at Oakmont Country Club and ended at 10-over 290 for the tournament. He earned a little more than $194,000.
Another ex-OSU golfer, Hunter Mahan, tied for 13th at 292 after shooting a 3-over 73 Sunday.
Anthony Kim, a former Oklahoma standout, had today's best round, a 3-under 67, and finished tied for 20th at 294, nine shots behind Cabrera. Kim had shot an 80 yesterday.
