A mental patient with a violent history is back in custody. Earlier this week, the News On 6 reported Randy Thweat walked away from a supervised fishing trip to Lake Oolagah in Rogers County two weeks ago. The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office says Thweat was picked up as he walked along U.S. Highway 412 near Catoosa.

The sheriff’s office told the News On 6, Thweatt has escaped from the care of Vinita state hospital staff May 23.

No one from the hospital or the state Department of Mental Health notified Rogers County law enforcement about the incident.
