MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (AP) -- Two people have died and another is injured in a house fire Wednesday morning that remains under investigation by Midwest City fire and police officials.
Midwest City Fire Marshal Jerry Lojka says that a 60-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman died in the blaze, which started about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
He says their identities are not being immediately released so that their families can be notified.
Lojka says the cause of the fire is not yet known. He says it did involve two cans of a highly volatile substance used to coat outdoor decks.
He says that as two people tried to put out the fire with a garden hose, one of the cans ignited and sent a fireball out of the home's front door.
One of those people, a man, suffered second-degree burns to his face and arms and was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital.
