OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A Feb. 25 trial date has been set for a man accused of killing his father then hiding his body in a freezer in the garage of their home in The Village, an Oklahoma City enclave.
Oklahoma County prosecutors charged Andrew Thompson, 20, with first-degree murder in the November slaying of Emmanuel Thompson.
Thompson confessed to the killing after he was arrested about two weeks later, a police detective alleged at a preliminary hearing in April.
Prosecutors also have charged Thompson with spending more than $10,000 of Emmanuel Thompson's money after he died.
Thompson also was ordered on Friday to stand trial on a felony count of assault and battery on a police officer for allegedly elbowing a sheriff's deputy in the head on Feb. 1.
