OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ A monthly survey of business conditions indicates the economic growth in Oklahoma is slowing but is still expanding.
The survey by Creighton University economics professor Ernie Goss puts Oklahoma's business conditions index at 53.3 for May. That's down from 54.2 in April.
An index above 50 indicates economic growth during the next three to six months.
Goss' overall survey for nine states in the Midwest region found the business index down from 62 in April to 58.3 in May.
Goss blames higher gasoline and energy prices for the slowdown.
