A line of strong thunderstorms moved across Oklahoma early Friday morning. As the storms moved through the Tulsa area, a number of residents and businesses were left without electrical service. In Tulsa, over 2,000 PSO customers are without electrical service for a time Friday morning. Power outages were also reported in Bartlesville and Chouteau.

Meanwhile, a tornado briefly touched down in the Oklahoma Panhandle on Thursday, causing some damage in the Guymon area, authorities said. There were no reports of injuries. Storm spotters reported a twister about 5 miles southwest of Hough about 8:15 p.m. The tornado remained on the ground for less than a minute, the National Weather Service reported. Authorities found a two-car garage destroyed, several trash bins flipped and fences knocked down on the south side of Guymon, authorities and the weather service reported.
Tornado warnings also were issued for Cimarron County, but there was no confirmation one touched down. A warning was issued several hours later for Woods County to the east of the Panhandle, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The storms were part of a system that spawned tornadoes in Nebraska, Kansas and Texas. Besides tornadoes, golf ball-sized hail was reported in Guymon and a wind gust of 68 miles per hour was reported in the area.
