OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The president of the University of Central Oklahoma says campus police need more training and staff. UCO President Roger Webb made the comments during the first meeting of a task force that's studying the safety and security of Oklahoma's college campuses.

Webb says institutions should develop a crisis management plan, form collaborations among campus and other law enforcement agencies and increase counseling opportunities for troubled students.

The task force was formed by Governor Brad Henry after the recent shooting at Virginia Tech where a student killed 32 people then himself.

The committee includes college presidents and administrators, mental health experts and law officers and plans to make recommendations to the state Legislature early next year.
