A Tulsa based company may have come up with a way to help secure American Humvees in Iraq and Afghanistan. Global Safety Labs calls it the world's most fire proof Humvee, and it was put to the test Monday afternoon. The truck was set on fire and within seconds, it was extinguished with systems that work both inside and outside the vehicle. Insurgents in Iraq use the threat of fire when targeting vulnerable parts like fuel tanks.

"While we don't know the exact circumstances of the three missing GIs, one of the things we do know that their hummer was burning and on fire,” said Global Safety Labs CEO Mike Freeman. “What we're trying to do is prevent the situation where a war fighter will have to exit a heavily armed Humvee to get away from a fire inside and expose himself to deadly fire."

Several branches of the military have expressed an interest in Global’s technology.
