AMHERST, Mass. (AP) -- Oklahoma's Lauren Eckermann scattered four hits and notched a complete game shutout today as the Sooners won 2-0 over the University of Massachusetts in the NCAAsoftball tournament.
Today's win in Amherst, Massachusetts was the 800th career victory for OU coach Patty Gasso. It also snapped UMass' 37-game home winning streak.
The Sooners (54-6) will play again tomorrow in the championship game of the double-elimination regional. Massachusetts (38-13-1) will face the winner of this afternoon's consolation final between Colgate and Long Island.
