An Oklahoma family hopes you and your family will head out to the Tulsa Zoo this weekend for the Cystic Fibrosis 2007 Great Strides walk.
The annual fundraiser happens across the country, and it’s the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest fundraising event. The money raised goes towards the development of drugs and treatments for CF. That money could also possibly find a cure for Grace, a 4-year-old Oklahoman living with the disease.
Cystic Fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. Through scientific advancements the life expectance of CF patients has increased form school age to 35 years of age.
If you’re interested in participating in the Great Strides one-mile walk it will be held Saturday, May 19, 2007, at the Tulsa Zoo. Check in time is at 9 a.m., the walk begins at 10 a.m. and lunch is at noon.
