Crime in Tulsa is of great concern to Mayor Kathy Taylor. Now that the Civil Service Commission has given her the okay to hire outside the Tulsa Police Department, the Mayor says the interview process for a new Police Chief can begin. Tuesday morning on Six In The Morning, the Mayor Taylor stopped by for her monthly visit and briefly discussed the potential candidates.

"All the people I have talked to are police chiefs or former police chiefs. They have all been from cities where they've had to tackle high violent crime, issues of diversity in the community, growth in the community, and where people come in for events,” says Mayor Kathy Taylor.

Mark McCrory is acting as interim police chief while Mayor Taylor continues to look at the candidates.
