Nowata Man Killed In Single-Car Accident

TALALA, Okla. (AP) -- Authorities say a Nowata man died in a single-vehicle accident near Talala in Rogers County. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 37-year-old Jason LaFremier died at the scene of the accident just before 4 p.m. Sunday.

OHP troopers say LaFremier's car was headed west on a Rogers County road when the vehicle left the roadway for some reason and he overcorrected. His car ended up hitting an embankment and rolling about two times before coming to rest on the passenger side.

Troopers say the impact threw LaFremier about 130 feet from the wreckage.

The patrol says he wasn't wearing a seat belt and may have been traveling an unsafe speed for the type of road.
