NEW YORK (AP) -- Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith was selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the final pick in the fifth round, the 174th overall, of the NFL draft Sunday. The Ohio State quarterback led the Buckeyes to the national title game last season and won the Heisman in the second-most lopsided vote in the history of the award.
Smith passed for 2,507 yards, 30 touchdowns and only five interceptions last season, and finished his career 25-3 as a starter. But questions about his height, he's barely 6-feet tall, and a terrible performance in the BCS championship game against Florida caused his draft stock to drop. He was just 4-14 for 35 yards with one interception and sacked him five times in Ohio State's 41-14 loss to the Gators.
With the Ravens, Smith will compete to back up Steve McNair.
