GOLTRY, Okla. (AP) -- A pickup truck runs off the road and slams into a tree Saturday morning south of Goltry, killing a 44-year-old Lahoma man.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Ronald L. Powers was southbound on State Highway 45 in Alfalfa County about 3 a.m. when the truck ran off the road, hit a stop sign and a tree, then went through a fence and came to rest in a field.

Powers was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
