Oklahoma could still see showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service said an area east of a line from Freedom to Clinton to Snyder to Seymour, Texas, remained under a slight risk of severe thunderstorms through Wednesday morning.

Strong storms could form as a strong upper-level storm system moves out of Colorado toward Oklahoma overnight and overtakes a stalled dry line, a boundary between moist and dry air, the weather service said. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main concern.

The severe threat will then shift into southeastern Oklahoma before the system exits the region, but additional precipitation could fall through Friday.

On Tuesday, skies were partly to mostly cloudy and temperatures ranged from 73 degrees in Guthrie, Guymon and McAlester to 86 degrees in Frederick. The mercury peaked at 75 degrees in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Bartlesville, forecasters said.

Partly cloudy conditions are expected on Wednesday, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs should reach the 60s and 70s and lows ranging from the 30s in the Panhandle to the low 50s in the southeast are predicted.

Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected Thursday and Friday, with a slight chance of storms in the northeast on Thursday and isolated thunderstorms possible statewide on Friday. Highs should reach the 60s and 70s on Thursday.

Daytime highs are expected to range from the upper 60s to low 80s across the state on Friday and lows in the 40s and 50s are forecast.

Clouds on Saturday may yield a slight chance of rain with highs reaching the 70s and 80s on Saturday. Lows should fall into the 50s and 60s, the weather service said.

Mostly clear skies on Sunday will allow temperatures to soar into the 80s. Lows in the 40s and 50s are expected, forecasters said.
