Girl Scouts in Oklahoma are sending a piece of home to Iraq. Brownie Troop 199 sold more than 500 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to send to soldiers. Monday, the Girl Scouts packed them up with a special message, "thank you for fighting for our freedom."

Phyllis Friederich started the "Cookies for Soldiers Project" when her son was in Korea. Now he's on his way to Iraq and knows what these cookies will mean to soldiers already there.

"Whenever you're overseas and you haven't seen anybody for a while, it gives you a little bit, a little bit reminder of home to make you feel that people are thinking about you," said U.S. Army Private First Class David Friederich.

The girls say their donation is honoring the troops and the hard working they're doing.
