UNDATED (AP) _ Barry Bonds continues to move closer to Hank Aaron.
Bonds homered for the second straight day as the San Francisco Giants topped Arizona 2-1 Sunday afternoon. It was his 740th career homer, leaving him 15 shy of Aaron's all-time mark.
Matt Cain went the distance on a 3-hitter in a game that lasted just one hour and 56 minutes.
In other National League action:
_ Edgar Renteria and Kelly Johnson hit 3-run homers to rally Atlanta past the New York Mets 9-6. Kelly Johnson homered on the game's first pitch before snapping a six-all tie in the 8th with his second blast of the afternoon.
_ Albert Pujols launched a 3-run homer in the 10th inning to lift St. Louis past the Chicago Cubs 12-9. Scott Rolen had a career-high 5 hits, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored for the Redbirds.
_ Dan Uggla homered twice and had 6 RBIs as Florida ripped Washington 12-6.
_ Ryan Howard hit a 2-run homer and drove in 3 runs as Philadelphia clobbered Cincinnati 9-3.

_ Ervin Santana pitched 7 strong innings and Garret Anderson drove in 2 runs to lead the Los Angeles Angels past Seattle 6-1.
_ Hank Blalock delivered a go-ahead, 2-run single while the Texas Rangers were scoring 3 times in the 8th to beat Oakland 4-3.
