TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Oral Roberts limits Southern Utah to 8 hits in a Mid-Continent Conference doubleheader Saturday as the Golden Eagles win 5-4 and 7-0.
The opener lasted 13 innings.
Southern Utah scored all of its runs in the 4th inning, 2 on a double by Cameron Nelson, and led 4-1. But the Thunderbirds went scoreless for the next 9 innings against Oral Roberts relievers Carlos Luna and Chance Chapman.
ORU tied the game in the 6th, scoring 3 runs with 2 outs. Pat Warfle delivered a 2-run single during the rally.
Chad Rothford's 1-out single off Derek Job in the 13th scored Kelly Minissale with the winning run.
The Golden Eagles breezed in the second game, as Jeremy Hefner pitched a complete-game 2-hitter and struck out 13. He had a no-hitter through 5 innings.
ORU is 20-14 overall and 3-0 in league play while Southern Utah falls to 6-34 and 1-6.
