MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) -- Aljay Davis goes 4-5 with 6 RBIs, pacing a 21-hit Oklahoma outburst as the Sooners beat Kansas State 20-9 Saturday.
The win snapped a four-game losing streak for OU. The Sooners scored 6 runs in both the 2nd and 3rd innings, helping make a winner out of starting pitcher Heath Taylor, who moved to 7-1.
Davis became the first OU player to drive in 6 or more runs in a game since Chris Elbright, who had 9 RBIs against Oklahoma City on March 28th, 1987.
Kansas State led 1-0 before the Sooners' two big innings. Trailing 12-1, the Wildcats scored 5 runs in the 3rd inning, but couldn't cut the gap any further.
Aaron Ivey went 4-5 for the Sooners, while Aaron Baker and Joseph Hughes each hit a home run. Byron Wiley hit his team-leading fourth home run of the season for Kansas State.
OU is now 26-15 overall and 6-8 in Big 12 Conference play while Kansas State falls to 25-14 and 6-8.
