It could be stormy across Oklahoma this week.

The National Weather Service said severe weather could be a factor over the weekend as a dry line, a boundary between moist and dry airmasses, develops ahead an approaching storm system.

An area at moderate risk of severe thunderstorms ran west of a line from Freedom and Woodward to Altus to Benjamin, Texas. A slight risk area to the east of the moderate risk region ran west of a line from Enid to Lawton to Wichita Falls, Texas, forecasters said.

Large hail, damaging winds and tornadoes were possible in the moderate risk area, the weather service said.

Overnight, skies were mostly clear and temperatures ranged from 50 degrees in Bartlesville to 61 degrees in Ponca City, the weather service said. The temperature bottomed out at 58 degrees in Gage, Guthrie, Hobart, Oklahoma City, Stillwater and Tulsa.

Partly to mostly cloudy skies were expected Saturday night, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the west. Lows should range from the middle 40s in the Panhandle to around 60 in eastern Oklahoma.

The rest of the state could see showers and thunderstorms on Sunday but chances will only be slight, forecasters said. Highs should reach the 70s statewide.

More thunderstorm chances will come on Monday and Tuesday, when additional strong atmospheric disturbances move across the area, forecasters said.

Highs on Monday should reach the 70s and 80s under partly cloudy skies. Lows should dip into the 40s and 50s.

The extended outlook calls for continued chances of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs reaching the 70s both days. Lows should range from the 40s in the Panhandle to the lower 60s in eastern Oklahoma both nights, forecasters said.
