JAY, Okla. (AP) -- A 15-year-old girl from Delaware County has died during a gigging tournament in northeastern Oklahoma. Delaware County sheriff's Detective Ron Teel says overnight campers went to wake the girl up Saturday morning but then realized she was dead.

The girl's identity has not been released, but Sheriff Jay Blackfox says she is of American Indian descent and is from the rural Salina area.

Authorities say there were no signs of foul play.

The two-day tournament, in which participants use a spear or claw device to impale fish or frogs, began Friday night.
