OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A Navy sailor at Tinker Air Force Base who was arrested last month is now formally charged with sexually abusing children.

Lawrence Karnowski of Edmond is charged with 40 counts of abusing four girls ranging from 8 to 12-years-old.

Court documents say the abuse began in 2004 and lasted until March 23rd. Karnowski was arrested March 24th.

Karnowski remains in the Oklahoma County jail on $220,000 bond.
