FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) Jeff Flagg batted in 2 runs off Duke Welker, who took a no-hitter into the 7th, to lead Mississippi State to a 2-1 victory over Arkansas on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (21-7, 7-4) will try for the sweep when the teams meet in the third game of the series on Sunday at Baum Stadium.

Mitch Moreland hit Welker's first pitch of the seventh for a double down the left-field line. Welker then got Brian LaNinfa to fly out to center but Joseph McCaskill singled to right, putting runners at the corners. Welker got his career-high 11th strikeout before Flagg did his damage.

Arkansas (24-10, 7-4) lost back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Welker (4-2) took the loss. Mississippi State starter Justin Pigott (3-3) got the complete-game victory. He scattered 8 hits, allowed 1 unearned run, struck out 4 and walked 1.

Arkansas took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 6th on Jeff Nutts RBI single to left field.
