BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) -- Northampton Community College won its 93rd straight softball game Sunday, surpassing one of the longest winning streaks in college athletics.
Northampton completed a three-game sweep of Montgomery College of Rockville, Md., with a 10-0 on Sunday to improve to 15-0 this season and eclipse the 92-game winning streak of North Carolina's women's soccer team from 1989-93.
The mark also surpasses the 88-game winning streak posted by John Wooden-coached UCLA in men's basketball from 1971-73.
Northampton, under coach Sam Carrodo, went 40-0 and 38-0 the last two seasons. The Lady Knights last lost on April 24, 2004, to Lehigh Carbon Community College.
