OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- State auditors are being asked to look into the finances of a Haskell County school district. State schools Superintendent Sandy Garrett is asking state Auditor and Inspector Jeff McMahan to investigate Kinta Public Schools.
Garrett calls Kinta a small school in financial trouble and says she wants to be sure there is no illegal activity taking place.
Garrett declined to give details of the financial troubles but calls the situation "convoluted" and says proper records haven't been provided.
The Kinta district has about 175 students.
