NEW YORK (AP) -- Bobby Murcer's brain tumor is, quote, "clear," and the New York Yankees broadcaster says he is eager to begin experimental cancer treatments.
The Oklahoma City native, who had surgery December 28th to remove a malignant brain tumor, has been a Yankees broadcaster since he retired from playing in 1983.
Murcer was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Christmas Eve after having headaches.
He recently underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatments to fight the tumor.
Murcer tells the New York Daily News that tests have shown he is entirely clear in regard to the tumor.
The five-time All-Star, who played in the major leagues from 1965 to 1983, is determined to return to the Yankees' YES Network broadcast booth this season.
He'll undergo his first treatment Monday in Houston.
