WASHINGTON (AP) -- Keith Gill is leaving an administrative post in Oklahoma's athletic department to become the next athletic director at American University.

Gill will be introduced at a news conference tomorrow. He has been senior associate athletic director of administration at Oklahoma since August 2004 and previously worked as an assistant athletic director at Vanderbilt and as director of membership services for the NCAA.

American has been searching for an athletic director since September, when Joni Comstock left to become senior vice president for championships at the NCAA.

The university is located in Washington, DC.
