ENID, Okla. (AP) Old clunkers are no longer welcome in Enid, and violators could be looking at jail time.
The city is considering an ordinance that will allow the city to remove inoperative vehicles from yards and possibly fine and jail those who violate the ordinance.
The ordinance is being introduced as part of an effort by the city commission to clean up the city.
It provides for the removal of inoperable motor vehicles after notice to the owner. The penalty for failure to remove the vehicle is a $500 fine and up to 60 days in jail.
