LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) _ A 3-year-old horse with Remington Park connections could take a big step on the Kentucky Derby trail in Saturday's Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park in Arkansas.
Going Ballistic was named the champion 2-year-old at Remington Park's throughbred meet last year. He starts at 15-to-1 odds in the nine-horse field in the Rebel Stakes.
Going Ballistic is trained by Donnie Von Hemel and will be ridden by Remington Park regular Cliff Berry.
Flying First Class, trained by D. Wayne Lukas, is the 2-to-1 favorite on the morning line.
Curlin, trained by Steve Asmussen, is the early second choice at 5-to-2 and will also have a new jockey, Robby Albarado.
Teuflesberg, the upset winner in the Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn Park on February 19th, starts at 9-to-2 odds. He will be ridden by Stewart Elliott, who also rode Smarty Jones to wins in the 2004 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes.
