The city of Claremore gets a new fire chief. Mark Dowler is a 15-year veteran of the Claremore Fire Department. The 44-year-old was among six applicants who were interviewed for the job.
Dowler rose through the ranks, becoming deputy fire chief in August 2005.
Dowler says he'd like to develop and carry out a five to ten-year strategic plan in which money is set aside each fiscal year for replacement vehicles. He would also like to add more personnel to accommodate 4-man engine companies at all three of the city of Claremore's fire stations.
