A street closing in south Tulsa may cause traffic delays. Thousands of cars travel through the intersection of 81st and Delaware every day. But for a couple of months, folks that normally drive through that area will have to find another way.

The city has blocked off the intersection while they rebuild it. The construction project also includes widening 81st from Delaware to Harvard. The intersection itself will be closed for three months. On a normal day, about 14,000 vehicles travel through the intersection.

In other traffic construction notes, the northbound lanes of Mingo from Pine to 35th Street North will be closed for the next week. The eastbound lanes of Edison Street to 29th West Avenue will close for two weeks and crews will be also be working on the 71st Street bridge over the Arkansas River.
