An Oklahoma soldier was laid to rest Thursday in Indianapolis, Indiana. U.S. Army Sgt. William ‘B.J.’ Beardsley was killed earlier this month by a roadside bomb in Iraq. He spent the past eight months in Iraq and was supposed to be home next month on leave.
"He's a hero. He's always been my hero. But he's a hero. He's a hero for his country and a hero for his family," says B.J.’s father, James Beardsley.
Beardsley is formerly from Tahlequah. He would have celebrated his 26th birthday in May. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
