OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ The U.S. Attorney's office says a former real estate appraiser has been sentenced to a year in prison for a fraud scheme.
Lawrence Goodwin of Noble had previously entered a guilty plea in the case.
He was accused of providing falsely inflated residential real estate appraisals to mortgage brokers who were assisting customers in refinancing their homes. The goal was to maximize the size of the loan.
He was also ordered to pay $235,000 in restitution.
