CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) Two Illinois football players have been released on bond after being charged with obstructing justice and possessing stolen property.
Wide receivers Jody Ellis and Derrick McPhearson posted $2,500 bail and were released from the Champaign County Jail Saturday, according to police. The two are to appear in court on Monday.
Coach Ron Zook said Saturday the two sophomores were suspended from the team indefinitely for "alleged criminal activity."
