MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) Federal prosecutors are accusing a Haskell County landowner of damaging the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge by setting a fire, damming a stream and bulldozing government property.
The civil complaint against Kelly Palmer claims he destroyed the refuge's deciduous trees, plants and a preserved habitat last year.
U.S. Attorney Sheldon Sperling says the government will seek more than $175,000 in damages.
