OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Mike Turpen's new booklet on politics isn't meant to be a serious treatise on public affairs.
The former attorney general and unsuccessful 1986 Democratic candidate for governor says "Ten Reasons to go into Politics" is a semi-humorous guide to Campaign 2008 and a project he did just for grins.
On the second page, the word "`NOT" is prominently displayed in red letters.
Turpen offers political wisdom of his own and from politicians he has known. Witticisms from famous people from Ronald Reagan to John F. Kennedy are also included.
Turpen's #8 reason for not running for office -- "sooner or later every campaign brings out the worst in everybody."
