An Oklahoma school superintendent is on administrative leave because of a drug investigation. Investigators with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics say Jerry Buckner and his wife, Robyn, who is a school teacher, could face charges of obtaining drugs by fraud.

The pair work at the Milfay school district, near Stroud. Investigators say the couple went to 25 doctors and 22 pharmacies in order to obtain thousands of hydrocodone pain pills.

The News On 6 has learned Buckner was investigated for this before, when he was a superintendent in another Oklahoma school district. "He was arrested in 2001 but the DA in the county where he was arrested said if he'd get treatment, he wouldn't file charges. Well, the guy didn't get treatment, he was in for a couple of weeks and was out and it continues," says David Hale with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.

Investigators say they would prefer people get treatment for their addiction, rather than go to jail, but say, sometimes jail is the only way people get serious about their problem.
