OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The state Department of Emergency Management is getting nearly a quarter million dollars more in federal money this year to prepare for disasters.
The US Department of Homeland Security will provide $2.84 million to the department, up from $2.6 million last year.
Spokeswoman Michelann Ooten says the money is used for salaries, rent, utilities and training and some is sent to county and local emergency management agencies statewide.
