Oklahoma Marine Dies In Accident

A US Marine from Muskogee has died in a traffic accident in California. Military officials say 20-year-old Lance Corporal Geoffrey Fisher was killed Saturday while on liberty in southern California.

A US Marine from Muskogee has died in a traffic accident in California. Military officials say 20-year-old Lance Corporal Geoffrey Fisher was killed Saturday while on liberty in southern California.

Fisher was a passenger in a vehicle when the driver of that vehicle fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle hit a tree and Fisher was killed instantly.

Lance Corporal Fisher served a tour in Iraq and had received several awards.

He is survived by his mother who lives in Muskogee and his father who lives in Kansas City.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
