The state fire marshal has been called in to investigate an overnight fire that left a Creek County man homeless. The fire broke out around 1:15 a.m. Monday at a home in the 8900 block of West 71st Street.
Fire crews had trouble because of a lack of water. They had to go about a mile to get water. By then, all they could do was keep the flames from spreading. The owner was not home at the time.
Damage is estimated at about $50,000.
