Tulsa Police hurried to the scene of an alarm call at an east Tulsa church early Thursday morning.
The Tulsa International Baptist Church at 8707 East 19th Street has been the scene of copper thefts recently. Copper coils were stolen from air conditioning units earlier this week.
This time someone tried to break into the church. A door was found open. Police say a search of the building determined nothing was taken.
Tulsa Police say the high price of copper has now made churches in the area the target of copper thieves.
