McALESTER, Okla. (AP) _ The parents of a 16-year-old girl are suing Eufaula High School for allegedly not giving girls' sports as much support as it does boys' sports.

The federal lawsuit is filed in the federal court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma and does not list the parents' names.

It says their daughter has endured discriminatory practices and asks the court to make the school district stop discriminating against female athletes and sports.

Superintendent Bill Wilson says he found out about the lawsuit Monday evening. He's says this is the first time he's heard any complaint about the way the school operated girls' sports.

Federal law requires schools receiving federal money not to allow discrimination in interscholastic, intercollegiate, club or intramural athletics.
